CMS issued a MEMO with a good explanation about the new option for states to provide Medicaid coverage to the lowest income adults without regard to disability, parental status or other categorical limitations. This is a very important expansion of Medicaid coming out of the health care reform package (see PPACA). Mandating this broader coverage beginning in 2014 is historic. It is optional until 2014.
There will be no asset cap for this program, just an income cap at 133% of FPL.
